Problem
Families waiting on an F4 petition get a priority date and a monthly bulletin, and no clear sense of what either means for them. The movement is public, but reading a decade of bulletins to estimate your own position is not something most people will do.
Approach
Track how the cut-off dates have actually moved over time, then project that pattern forward for a given priority date. The prediction is presented as a pattern-based estimate, not a promise - the bulletin is the only authority.
Outcome
Deployed and usable. It is the project that taught me that the hard part of a prediction product is communicating uncertainty honestly.
